Also… new Virgin Blue routes!

November 2nd, 2007 Mick

It seems Virgin Blue are excited with their new E-jets, and have announced daily flights to Port Maquarie, and also established Albury as a new destination!

And to go along with the announcement, there are some cheap airfares up for grabs.

“Virgin Blue will launch flights between Sydney and Port Macquarie from 4 February 2008 with a direct daily service. A special launch fare is now available of $69* one-way on the internet and is on sale until Friday 16 November for travel between 4 February to 15 March 2008 and 29 April to 26 June 2008. Everyday low fares will start from $109, up to 20% lower than the existing fares on offer in the market today. “

And for Albury:

“To celebrate the announcement, Virgin Blue has launched a “Ho Ho Ho Jingle Jet” fare of $69* one way on the internet on sale now until 16 November 2007 for travel between 4 February 2008 to 15 March 2008 and 29 April to 26 June 2008.”

So some great airfares to picked up there, and of course all these low airfares can be found through FareFetched.

Feeds and Calenders

October 17th, 2007 Mick

Today we launched RSS and iCalendar support for FareFetched airfare data.

iCalendar support means that now you can browse through airfare prices using your own calendaring software like Outlook, or even Google Calendar! This will make it super easy to find a cheap flight which lines up with your schedule, or just a weekend or a public holiday.

RSS feeds means that you no longer have to visit FareFetched to track a particular trip. Instead, search for the trip, then add the search to your RSS reader (Outlook, Google Reader, Bloglines, etc). Simply refer to the feed for the latest data on that search.

Now searching Tiger

July 11th, 2007 Mick

Tiger Airways has recently announced their entry into the Australian market, so we’ve added Tiger to our fare search! This makes FareFetched the first Australian website with the capability to simultaneously search Virgin Blue, Jetstar, Qantas and Tiger Airways.

Tiger’s announced routes so far are Melbourne to Darwin and Melbourne to Gold Coast, but through a little digging around on Tiger’s website it looks like a number of destinations like Mackay, Rockhampton, Perth and Alice Springs won’t be far off.

Sorry for the lapse in time since the last blog post, there should be some new stuff coming to FareFetched soon!
